Cement is the world’s most widely used building material and as such constitutes a vital component in the majority of the building projects that create the walls and infrastructure of modern development. In Egypt and its neighbouring countries economic development is mirrored by a growing demand for cement, which has positioned the cement industry as a strategically important sector. Unfortunately, the industry is challenged by a serious lack of qualified personnel. To help alleviate this problem FLSmidth has entered into a strategic CSR-partnership with Helwan University. The idea is to prepare engineers graduating from the university adequately for a potential career in the cement industry. By bridging FLSmidth’s extensive cement knowledge with the strong academic and organizational infrastructure of Helwan University it is the ambition of the partnership to create an innovative hub for cement training.

Upon the successful completion of the program, the student will be eligible to receive a Diploma degree in cement engineering from Helwan University in cooperation with FLSmidth.  Participants will be registered at Helwan University and get the cement field experience from FLSmidth. The program is accredited by the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities.

What our graduates say "one of our Graduate says"

During our study in FLSmidth Helwan Cement Institute we grew our knowledge and experience in all engineering aspects. Having the feeling of being a part of the industrial world provided us with more self-confidence as we improved our knowledge and had the opportunity to innovate. After graduation we didn’t take a lot of time to fit in or to learn the basics which we already had received that also gave us a boost to gain more knowledge as we proceed in our cement career.
