Sustainability, Equal Opportunities, and Gender Equality Statement

One of the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030 is to ensure equal opportunities and gender equality without gender-based discrimination in all economic, social, and political fields. Additionally, the fifth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals focuses on gender equality. Based on this, we propose the Sustainability, Equal Opportunities, and Gender Equality Document at Helwan University to reinforce the university's role in raising youth awareness of the importance of equal opportunities and embedding the values of equality and non-discrimination among different segments of society.

Sustainability Document Provisions

1. Raising awareness of the Egyptian state's role in advancing women's status according to the state's sustainable development strategy—Egypt Vision 2030.
2. Enhancing the fifth UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on gender equality and raising awareness of quality-of-life concepts for both genders.
3. Preparing a document on equal opportunities and gender equality to be included in the university's policies, published on the official university website, and distributed to university faculties.
4. Raising awareness of women's rights and their protection against violence as guaranteed by the Egyptian Constitution.
5. Raising awareness about protecting women against violence and ways to protect them according to the UN Declaration.
6. Raising awareness and confronting the issues of early marriage and female genital mutilation.

7. Raising awareness of the girl's future role as a mother and a successful working woman.
8. Providing examples of the Egyptian state's efforts to support women by appointing them to leadership positions.
9. Maximizing the utilization of available resources, considering persons with special abilities.
10. Encouraging entrepreneurship at the university to develop entrepreneurial skills for all university members.
11. Receiving and confidentially reviewing complaints regarding violations of equal opportunities and gender equality and working to resolve them with the relevant university authorities.
12. Raising awareness of the importance of physical activity and balanced nutrition for both genders at all stages of life and under all responsibilities.
