Growing up
The Centre for Measurement and Evaluation is one of the outputs of projects to develop student calendar and examination systems at the University of Helwan. The Centre was established in July 2012 and is attached to the Rector of the University to contribute to the development of the educational process.
Message
Contributing to the dissemination of a culture of measurement and evaluation, the development of evaluation systems and rules at the University of Helwan, ongoing training, analysis of examination results, feedback and corrective action to ensure fairness and transparency in the evaluation of educational outcomes of courses and programmes
Vision
Leading the measurement and evaluation systems through the achievement of standards of fairness and transparency within the educational system to raise the level of the university at the local, regional and global levels.
7.Follow-up on the preparation and updating of question banks for courses in the light of targeted learning outcomes and academic standards for college programmes.
8.Follow-up on quality assurance and development of student calendars and examinations at colleges.
9.Provision of technical support to colleges to review evaluation methods and tools and the results of examinations.
10.Follow-up of indicators for measuring the satisfaction of students and faculty members and their assistants with regard to measurement systems, student calendars and examinations at university colleges.
11.Continuous communication (reports - coordination of visits - attendance at meetings) with colleges.
12.Follow-up and evaluation of the specifications of the examination paper and the commitment of colleges and procedures for their improvement.
Objectives
1.To disseminate a culture of measurement and evaluation and to raise awareness of the importance of developing measurement and evaluation processes as one of the entry points for improving the education system of the University at the educational and administrative levels.
2. Support colleges to develop mechanisms for the evaluation of students and examinations and to publicize the results and invest them in the development and improvement of the outputs of the educational process.
3.Preparation of manuals of controls and standards to ensure the quality of measurement and evaluation in the light of the academic standards adopted by colleges.
4.Training and qualification of teaching staff and associate staff at various faculties in the field of measurement and evaluation.
5.Training of teaching staff in the introduction of test vocabulary into question bank programmes in line with the matrix of targeted learning outputs.
6.Provide for the needs of colleges of experts specializing in measurement and evaluation.
