Executive and Administrative Structure

Helwan University is committed to advancing science and technology through the establishment of research and innovation centers to enhance scientific research and industrial development. This contributes to economic and social progress while keeping pace with technological advancements to achieve sustainable development and effectively address societal challenges.

In line with this vision, the Central Laboratory was established in the Excellence and Scientific Innovation Center building at Helwan University, pursuant to University Council Resolution No. (532) dated December 27, 2022. The laboratory aims to directly and indirectly enhance scientific research capabilities and improve the university's international ranking.

As a non-profit entity engaged in scientific and research services, the Central Laboratory is subject to all exemptions, regulations, and laws governing non-profit scientific and educational research centers.

1-Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Unit

The NMR unit is an advanced research facility that provides precise material analysis using magnetic fields and radio frequencies, enabling the determination of molecular structures and chemical properties to support scientific research and industrial applications.

2-Molecular Biology Research Unit

This unit specializes in studying genetic material and its applications using cutting-edge techniques such as PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), which amplifies DNA with high precision, facilitating research in genetic diseases, molecular diagnostics, and genetic engineering.

This unit aims to design and develop novel pharmaceutical compounds to combat infectious diseases and cancer using advanced medicinal chemistry techniques, while evaluating their efficacy and safety to improve treatment methods and address antibiotic resistance.
