About

The Nanotechnology Research Center at Helwan University is one of the strategic support centers affiliated with the university’s Graduate Studies and Research Sector, operating under the supervision of the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research. As a pioneering entity in the field of advanced materials and nanoscience, the center plays a vital role in fostering scientific innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The center’s core mission is to provide research, training, and consulting services to the faculties of Helwan University, as well as to other Egyptian universities, national research centers, and industrial partners—including factories and companies interested in the application of nanotechnology in their products and processes.

This mission is realized through a robust foundation of state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern laboratory equipment, and a dedicated team of faculty members, researchers, and technical staff. The center also benefits from the expertise of leading scientists across the university who contribute according to their areas of specialization.

By promoting cutting-edge research and industrial collaboration, the Nanotechnology Research Center aims to support national priorities in science and technology, enhance the university's research output, and contribute meaningfully to Egypt’s scientific and economic development.

Vision and Mission

Vision

To establish the Nanotechnology Research Center at Helwan University as a distinguished local and regional authority in the advancement and application of nanotechnology, and as a driving force for innovation and scientific research dedicated to serving industry, addressing societal needs, and promoting sustainable development.

Mission

The Nanotechnology Research Center at Helwan University is committed to fostering an advanced research environment for the characterization and synthesis of nanomaterials, while promoting scientific collaboration with academic institutions and industrial partners. The center aims to develop highly skilled human resources capable of generating innovative solutions aligned with national priorities and contributing to the advancement of a knowledge-based economy. Furthermore, the center actively supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through nanotechnology applications in the fields of health, energy, environment, and education."

Objectives

  • To promote applied scientific research in the field of nanotechnology that serves vital sectors such as industry, environment, energy, and health.
  • To develop the research infrastructure by upgrading laboratories and equipment and providing advanced tools for nanomaterial analysis and fabrication.
  • To establish effective partnerships with academic and industrial institutions at the local level to support technology transfer and the practical application of research.
  • To train and qualify researchers and students in modern nanotechnology techniques, and to raise awareness within the scientific community about its benefits and applications.
  • To support entrepreneurship and innovation by transforming research outputs into practical and marketable products or solutions.
  • To disseminate scientific knowledge through organizing conferences and workshops, and participating in national research and innovation initiatives

Tasks

1- Research Sample Analysis :

Providing advanced sample analysis services using nanotechnology for researchers from inside and outside Helwan University, and for research and industrial centers.

2- Holding specialized training courses :
Organizing training courses and workshops in fields related to nanotechnology, with the aim of raising the efficiency of researchers and those interested in the center’s related fields.

3- Rental of research spaces  (Bench Fees):
Providing workspaces and advanced research equipment that enable researchers to conduct their experiments within the center’s laboratories.

4 - Preparation and sale of nanomaterials:
Manufacturing high-quality nanomaterials and providing them to researchers, and academic and industrial institutions upon request.

- Participation in research projects :
Contributing to the implementation of research projects, whether through the Center’s internal teams or in cooperation with research groups from other academic or industrial entities.

6- Providing research consultations:
Providing scientific and technical consulting services to companies and industrial institutions in the fields of nanotechnology applications.

Cash payment steps:
1- Click on the device image and download the appropriate analysis form (PDF)
2-  Send the form via WhatsApp to the Executive Secretary of the Center (Mr. Mohammed Abdel-Aati à 01111045429)
with a copy of the national ID card (two sides) to issue the payment code.
3- Send the form via WhatsApp to the Executive Secretary of the Center (Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Ati 01111045429) with a copy of
the two sides of the national ID card to issue the payment code.
4- After issuing the payment code, it will be sent to the customer to be paid at any electronic payment machine (Aman - Masary - Basata)
5-After completing the payment process, please send the copies of the payment receipt to the center’s executive secretary via
WhatsApp, and then send the samples to the center’s headquarters.
6- After completing the sample analysis, the results will be sent to the WhatsApp application or the email address provided in the form.
7- After the analysis is completed, please come to the center to take the remaining samples, if any. If you do not come within two
weeks, the center will dispose of the samples and the center will not bear any legal responsibility.
 Steps for settling financial claims:
1- Submit a request to the center to obtain a financial claim to submit to the college or the donor.
2-The Center will provide the customer with a detailed invoice for the approved services and associated fees. This invoice is only
generated based on your specific request. Please be advised that the Center cannot begin any analytical work until we have
received an electronic payment authorization from your sponsoring institution.
3- The customer brings an electronic payment order stamped by the relevant authority/institution.
4-The customer should deliver the samples to the center to be analyzed
Important note:
Regarding claims, financial accounting for samples delivered will be done at the center’s prices on
the day the samples are delivered, not on the day the claim is issued, if the prices are changed by the university.
The center provides space within the center for conducting research for graduate
students and technology incubators, as follows:
1-Bench rental for 50 pounds per hour, without the use of analysis equipment, chemicals, 
or glassware at the center.
2-Bench rental for $5 per hour for foreigners, without the use of the center's analytical
 equipment, chemicals, or glassware at the center.
