The Department of Higher Studies is responsible for all administrative steps at the post-graduate level (Dachelor ' s degree) in all 20 faculties of the university, beginning with the admission of Egyptian students to the three stages of post-graduate studies and granting the degree through all administrative procedures.

Management of enrolment and study

Applications for postgraduate studies in its three stages (diploma - master - doctorate) are open from July 15 to September 15 of each year.

Applications for admission again are open as a second semester from December 10 to December 31 of each year in some colleges.

The papers and documents required for the Egyptian study:

  • Qualification certificate + equivalency of the Supreme Council of Universities (in case of obtaining the qualification from a non-governmental entity).
    Computer birth certificate + two copies of it.
    Certificate of recruitment for males.
    A copy of the card.
    (4) personal photos.
    A sabbatical certificate for the master's degree or the approval of the employer to attend lectures.
    Four-year estimates for the master's and doctoral stages.

Certificate of qualification.
A letter from the Embassy explaining the university year and the advanced stage of the transfer.

  • Students are registered for courses of their choice approved by the academic guide and within the limits of the school schedules announced in the week prior to the beginning of the study and in accordance with the rules and procedures governing the process of registration of the courses decided by the College Board.

    (Approving hour) A scientific unit that registers a student in the event of success in the course he or she is studying at a rate of one school hour per week in the case of practical or applied lectures.
    The competent scientific department shall determine the number of hours approved for each course.
    Each college list of university colleges regulates the number of approved hours required to pass as basic requirements for each degree (M.D.D.).

Academic guidance

Each science department at the beginning of each semester appoints an academic mentor for each specialty among the faculty within the department. The academic guide provides academic guidance to diploma students during the entire period of study and to master ' s and PhD students prior to the recording of the message. Student registration shall be cancelled in the following cases:
If the requirements for obtaining a degree have not been completed within the period of time specified in the Colleges ' internal regulations.
If he is warned of two consecutive classes, the exception is a student who has successfully completed at least 75% of the approved hours and is given an exceptional opportunity of one semester.
Three years from the date of entry without recording the letter in the case of the Master-PhD.

If the student meets the attendance rate (75% of the credit hours) and with the approval of the College Council, he is allowed to withdraw from one or more courses during the first six weeks of the semester and record that he has withdrawn (W). These courses are not included in the calculation of the student's grade.

If a student meets the attendance rate (75% of the credit hours), the student may withdraw completely from studying in one of the semesters if he submits an excuse acceptable to the Council of Graduate Studies. The College Council may suspend the student's enrollment for a semester or more, not exceeding two consecutive or sporadic years during his study of the degree.

Examination management

Composition and discussion of the Governance Committee

It is a committee composed of three faculty members (one member of the supervisors of the letter and two members of the letter, at least one from outside the college in the case of masters and from outside the university in the case of doctorates). This is after the signing of the letter ' s validity report by the supervisors and the approval by the College Board of the composition of the committee, which is approved by Mr. A.د. Vice-President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research. Taking into account that the communication shall be discussed within a minimum of 15 days from the date of the deputy ' s accreditation and up to a maximum of 6 months.


The supervisor of the letter may be present on the stand of judgement only if he or she holds a teacher ' s or assistant professor ' s degree and the teacher may not be present on the stand of judgment, and if there is a multiplicity of supervisors, they may be present only if they have one vote with the other two arbitrators.

Amendment of the composition of the Governance and Discussion Committee

In the event that a panel member of the Committee for Discussion and Judgement is unable to attend the circumstances of (travel-disease) death, another panel member will replace him with the approval of the other members following the approval of the College Board and the approval of Mr.د. Vice president of the university.


In the event that the supervisor of the letter cannot be present for compelling reasons, he will be replaced by the head of the college science department after the approval of the college council and the approval of Mr. A.د. Vice president of the university.

Extension of discussion and governance

If the maximum period (6 months) of the deputy's accreditation is over, and the scholars are unable to complete the discussion for compelling reasons, such as illness, and Maefeed submits proof of this to the college council, and before he excuses it, the college may request an extension of the discussion period and send the papers to the university administration to approve the extension of the discussion period.

Award of degree

The degree is awarded based on the decision of the discussion committee and the judgment signed by all members of the committee recommending granting the student the degree, as well as individual reports and the collective report submitted by the supervisors and arbitrators members of the defense committee, which recommends granting the degree and the approval of the College Council on the grants and then approved by Prof. Dr. / President of the University.

Review the results of the exams received from the control of the faculties of the university in the different stages before approving them

The education affairs specialist receives the results of postgraduate exams in their various stages (diploma - pre-master's - doctoral courses) received from the college and reviews the calculations and estimates immediately after leaving the control and before announcing them in the college. Documentation of temporary and cardboard certificates:

The education affairs specialist responsible for the college reviews all the data of temporary and cartoon certificates for the three stages, as well as postgraduate registration certificates from the records according to the credit hour system to be documented by the General Administration of Graduate Studies and Research and stamped with the administration's seal so that the grantees can document them from the Foreign Ministry.
