Scholarship Program for International Students

The International Students Administration at Helwan University is pleased to announce the Helwan University's International Students Scholarship Program for the sixth consecutive year, for the academic year 2025/2026.  This is in parallel to the university's direction to increase the number of international students from various countries around the world.

 

The International Students Scholarship Program offered by Helwan University for the current academic year has achieved remarkable success, receiving a warm welcome and strong response from many representatives of foreign countries in Egypt, including ambassadors, cultural attachés, and international students’ representatives at the university. This year, the number of scholarships offered by the university has increased to 60 scholarships for countries around the world, and different levels of scholarships have been introduced in addition to the full scholarships.

Important Instructions

  • Incomplete applications or applications with missing information and attachments may not be considered.
  • The deadline date for applying is Monday, 15th September 2025, 23:59:59 CDT.

How to Apply

First: Fill in the application and upload the preliminary nomination letter and the rest of requested documents on the following link. 

Second: Students who win the scholarships will be notified via their email, and they must send a copy of the final admission letter for the year 2025-2026 that the student obtained from the "Study in Egypt" platform otherwise the scholarship will be cancelled.

Important Note

The Admission Office has the right to request official and printed copies of the certificates if necessary to evaluate the applications.

* These scholarships cover only the school fees mentioned, and do not include subsistence and subsistence expenses, monthly salaries, travel expenses, health-care expenses, any insurance category (e.g. health insurance, etc.), university book expenses, visa fees or the collection of scientific material for graduate students.

Important Notes:

  • It is essential to note that the condition for maintaining the scholarship in its entirety is to achieve a minimum overall good grade at least. IF the student receives an acceptable or transferable grade in one or two subjects or fails, the student must pay the tuition fees for the new academic year, and the scholarship will be reinstated if the student achieves a minimum overall good grade at least.
  • If a student is on a scholarship for a regular program and wishes to transfer to a special program, there is no objection to the transfer, unless the faculty’s regulations permit it and the full tuition fees for the special program are paid.
  • The continuation of the scholarship is conditional upon the student receiving a yearly renewal letter from the International Students Affairs office, which must be presented along with a statement from the college showing the student's overall grade average for the previous academic year.
  • IF a student submits a valid excuse accepted by the committee responsible for studying excuses at the faculty, the student's registration will be postponed to the following academic year, and the student will continue to receive the scholarship and be exempt from paying tuition fees. However, if a student fails without submitting a valid excuse, s/he must pay the tuition fees for the year in which s/he failed.
  • At the beginning of the academic year, the student must visit the International Students Affairs Office in the administrative building, first floor, to sign an agreement acknowledging their understanding of all the necessary conditions for continuing the scholarship. A copy of this agreement would be sent to the faculty where the student will enrol.
  • Scholarships cover only the tuition fees mentioned and do not include accommodation and living expenses, monthly salaries, travel expenses, any category of insurance (such as health insurance, etc.), university textbook expenses, expenses for obtaining a visa or collecting research materials for postgraduate students, or service fees (advantage – certificates, etc.)

Regarding Postgraduate Scholarships:

If the student's study period exceeds the prescribed period for each stage of study (Diploma, Masters, Doctorate), the student must pay the tuition fees for each year exceeding the prescribed period, in accordance with the regulations and laws in force.
