Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Mohamed Salem Wins the Safir Award from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs

As part of its ongoing achievements at both the regional and international levels, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Capital University (formerly Helwan University) has achieved a distinguished international accomplishment, with Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Mohamed Salem winning the Safir Award: Mediterranean of Solidarity, presented by the “SAFIR” Program of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the management and implementation of youth community projects over the past three years.
The Safir Award is considered one of the prestigious international awards, granted once every three years to only six young leaders from Mediterranean countries who have made a tangible impact in supporting solidarity and community development initiatives.
Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Mohamed Salem was selected based on his involvement in several youth community projects across various Mediterranean countries, particularly in North Africa, Spain, and Italy. These projects aimed to enhance the capacities of Mediterranean youth in climate-related issues and support the transformation of their ideas into practical, implementable development initiatives within their local communities.
Dr. El-Sayed Qandil, President of Capital University (formerly Helwan University), affirmed that this achievement reflects the university’s advanced standing on the international stage and underscores its success in preparing qualified cadres capable of contributing effectively to sustainable development issues. He also noted that the university places special emphasis on supporting initiatives and activities with strong community and international dimensions.
Dr. Qandil extended his warmest congratulations to Dr. Ahmed Salem, wishing him continued success and excellence.
Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, stated that this distinction adds to the faculty’s record of achievements and reflects its role in supporting successful models that combine academic excellence with social responsibility. He emphasized the faculty’s commitment to encouraging active participation in international initiatives that contribute to community service and youth capacity building.
This achievement embodies the vision of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Capital University (formerly Helwan University) in opening up to the world, strengthening its role in supporting humanitarian and environmental causes, and actively participating in international initiatives with sustainable impact.
