Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Helwan University, Chairs the "Women Lead to Executive Roles" Committee: Empowering Women is a National Priority

The third day of personal interviews for the "Women Lead to Executive Roles" program kicked off with broad participation from ministers, governors, heads of local and international bodies, public figures, and experts from various fields. Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Helwan University, chaired the evaluation committees tasked with selecting the best candidates for the program, which falls under the umbrella of the Women’s Leadership Qualification School.
Dr. Kandil affirmed that the "Women Lead to Executive Roles" initiative stems from a firm belief that women are not only partners in development but are also essential pillars in leading change and shaping public policy—both at institutional and national levels. Women have consistently demonstrated competence, dedication, and innovation across various sectors. Today, these efforts are being directed into a structured and practical path aimed at increasing women's representation in executive positions, empowering them to overcome challenges, and achieving balance in decision-making centers. Empowerment, he stressed, is not merely about providing opportunities, but also about offering tools, support, skill development, building support networks, and removing social and institutional barriers that hinder women's advancement.
This program is considered as one of the pioneering national initiatives aimed at preparing and qualifying women leaders capable of assuming executive roles within the state’s administrative apparatus. It offers a comprehensive training curriculum that combines theoretical lectures, workshops, and field training. The program covers various topics including leadership skills, modern management, entrepreneurship, public relations, economics, and sustainable development, as well as women’s issues and success stories. The goal is to empower participants to make a meaningful impact both within and beyond state institutions.
The evaluation committees assessed the candidates based on precise criteria, including personal characteristics, leadership and decision-making abilities, flexibility, communication skills, personal motivation, expressive abilities, dialogue, and creativity.
This initiative aligns with Egypt’s national efforts to support and empower women based on scientific and institutional foundations, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. The program contributes to building a new generation of qualified female executive leaders equipped with modern management tools and developmental vision—enhancing women’s roles in shaping public policies and decision-making within state institutions.
