Helwan University Enhances Researchers’ Capabilities with Workshop on Excellence in International Scientific Publishing

As part of Helwan University’s commitment to supporting and developing researchers’ capabilities in international scientific publishing, the Scientific Research Support Center organized a workshop titled "Excellence in International Scientific Publishing." The workshop was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. El-Sayed kandil, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Emad Abu El-Dahab, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and was supervised by Dr. Rasha Azzam, Director of the Center.

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Mohamed Ali, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Nursing – Mansoura University. He covered various key topics related to the requirements of publishing in indexed international journals, starting from choosing a viable research idea to designing the study according to global academic standards.

He also discussed the mechanisms for selecting the appropriate journal, professional techniques for preparing a research paper, and how to respond to reviewers’ comments effectively to improve scientific content. The session further explored recent trends in academic publishing, emphasizing the importance of adhering to publication ethics and protecting intellectual property.

The workshop was moderated and coordinated by Dr. Alaa El-Darawy, Lecturer at the Faculty of Nursing – Helwan University, and witnessed a large turnout of faculty members and teaching assistants from within and outside the university. This reflects the growing interest in enhancing publication skills and improving the quality of scientific output.

The workshop concluded with an open discussion that featured active engagement and valuable contributions from participants, all united in their interest to develop the scientific publishing ecosystem in Egyptian universities.
