The Launch of the First Sports Festival for International Students at Helwan University

Kandil: We always strive to support international students and involve them in various student activities at Helwan University.

As part of Helwan University's commitment to enhancing student activities and providing a comprehensive educational environment that combines academics, sports, and culture, the First Sports Festival for International Students was launched. The event targeted students from various nationalities studying at the university. It was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. El-Sayed kandil, President of Helwan University, and under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Emad Abu El-Dahab, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, with the supervision from Dr. Haitham Sewilam, Director of the International Students Administration.

The festival was held in the indoor hall at Helwan University Club on campus and featured a variety of sports competitions aimed at promoting a spirit of athletic competition and cultural interaction among students. The festival included a football league, ping pong league, and chess league, with students competing in an atmosphere filled with excitement and challenge.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. El-Sayed Kandil urged students to actively participate in student activities, emphasizing that this event is part of the university’s efforts to support international students and involve them in various activities. This contributes to strengthening their integration into the university community, understanding their needs, and working to meet them, as well as providing opportunities for communication and interaction among students from diverse cultural backgrounds. The festival also aims to discover athletic talents among students and encourage them to practice sports as part of their university life.

Through this festival, Helwan University reaffirms its commitment to offering a well-rounded educational experience that integrates academic, sports, and cultural activities—enhancing its position as one of the leading universities in supporting international students and providing a motivating learning environment.

At the closing ceremony, the university president handed out medals, trophies, and certificates of appreciation to the international students who participated in the festival, and commemorative photos were taken with students from various colleges, nationalities, and academic levels.
