These services aim to automate and digitize universities libraries and include the following:
1. the service of providing access to the bibliographic records and data, using the MARC21 format, of books, theses, and journal articles available at the libraries of Helwan University’s different faculties via the website of the Egyptian Universities Libraries Consortium.
So far, approximately 408,144 books have been entered, reviewed, and approved, with data entry still ongoing.
Additionally, bibliographic records have been made available for around 33,875 academic theses and 1,946 journal articles.
It is worth noting that Helwan University has demonstrated strong performance and achievement rates, according to the Supreme Council of Universities' 2024 report on progress rates at Helwan University.
2. the service of indexing and uploading the articles of the academic journals of Helwan University’s different faculties to the Digital Repository of the Egyptian Universities Libraries Consortium.
So far, approximately 1,946 articles have been made available on the Consortium’s website in full-text format, ready for easy downloading with work still underway to upload the remaining articles of all the available journals with all their published issues.
3. the service of uploading the full texts of master's and doctoral theses that have been completed and defended at all the faculties and institutes affiliated with Helwan University.
Approximately 10,920 academic theses have been uploaded to the Egyptian Universities Libraries Consortium platform to date, with the uploading process still ongoing.
4. the service of registering and uploading the proposals of academic theses currently under study, whose titles have received official approval.
Approximately 11,742 research proposals from the various academic disciplines available across the different faculties of Helwan University have been uploaded.
