Faculty of Applied Art

The Faculty of Applied Arts (FAA) is the university’s oldest faculty that was established in 1839 during the reign of Muhammad Ali Pasha who aimed at preparing skillful artisans, scientists and technical staff supervisors in the Arab World as well as in the West. Based on Helwan University’s academic mission, FAA recognizes the importance of technology and managerial skills in exploring creativity. Accordingly, the focus is to enable students to acquire such skills through broadly-based academic programmes that include but not limited to: Arts, Design, and Technology. The Faculty aims to deliver graduates who can promote professional design in a dynamic and diverse work environment through gearing its students with fundamental skills and disciplines to come up with creative ideas and designs.
