PRESIDENT EL-SISI INAUGURATES THE “ARTS AND CULTURE” HUBAT HELWAN UNIVERSITY VIA VIDEO CONFERENCING
In a precedent that is considered a first in the history of Helwan University, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, inaugurated the University’s “Arts and Culture” Hub, via a video conference, this was a part of several national grand projects’ openings. The event witnessed the attendance of, Eng. Mustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, and Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of Professor Dr. Maged Negm, the President of Helwan University, who had launched the inauguration of the hub, with the presence of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Reda, the executive head of the HU.
THE “ARTS AND CULTURE” HUB INCLUDESAN “ARTISTIC PERFORMANCES” BUILDING which comprises a “Grand Theater”, which is considered one of the largest theatre halls in Egypt, with 1404 seats (980 seats in the main hall and 424 balcony seats ) and a stage extending to 600 square meters. The hub, additionally, involves a total of six highly tech. halls for conferences and cultural seminars, attached to the Grand Theatre Hall in the Artistic Performances building. Moreover, the hub includes the “Museum Exhibitions” building which involves a group of specialized museums, for contemporary art, and for the first time a historical museum for Helwan University.
THE “ARTS AND CULTURE” HUB WAS ESTABLISHED AS A BEACON FOR INTELLECTION and creativity that encourages cultural and artistic interaction for a University’s youth and the public in general. It aims at creating a cultural, artistic, scientific, and social environment that helps in detecting, developing, and presenting talents to the society. Additionally, it aims at linking the scientific, artistic, and cultural activities of the Egyptian Universities with the international Universities and bodies, as well as deepening the youth’s belonging and love for the homeland by supporting them intellectually and culturally.
TEACHING & LEARNING Achieving excellence in education that produces internationally, regionally and locally comparative graduates who are equipped with basic skills in critical thinking and communication that stimulates students to satisfy their eagerness for knowledge and lifelong learning , motivate them to be pioneers and have creative behaviour based on self-development and enhance their ambition for success during and beyond university education.
