Programme 2024/2023 for Undergraduate (Bachelors) & Postgraduate (Masters and PhD) studies in Cairo – Egypt
The International Students Bureau (ISB) at Helwan University gladly announces 60 scholarship opportunities for International Students. International (i.e. Non-Egyptian) students from all over the
world are eligible to apply for the following scholarships (Applicants will be considered based on academic merit):

u Applicants for a Bachelor’s Degree must be holding a 2023 Secondary Education certificate (High School certificate, or an equivalent) as per the requirements of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities (Applicants must have completed their PreUniversity education in 2022).

(Masters & PhD Degree Programs) |
u Applicants for a Master’s Degree must be holding a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum overall GPA of at least 3.2 or an overall Grade of at least “Very Good”.

| u Applicants for a PhD Degree must be holding a Masters by Research degree from an accredited university (Masters by Coursework does not qualify an applicant to be enrolled into a PhD programme).
|
*Please notice that applicants’ adequate language skills in Arabic will be valued as an added extra when considering applications.

*Please notice that this Scholarship covers only the Tuition Fees, NOT includes the accommodation expenses, monthly expenses, travel expenses (for Postgraduate students), healthcare, any category of insurance (such as health insurance, … etc.), college books expenses, nor the visa expenses.

For the Special Programs, Additional Annual Tuition Fees shall be paid by the applicants that are determined on yearly basis by the faculty.
Scholarship Application Instructions
Please read the entire list of instructions below carefully. Incomplete applications or applications with missing information and attachments may not be considered. An independent panel will review the submitted applications and select scholarship winners.
- The deadline for applying is Friday, 15th September 2023, 23:59:59 CDT (Central Daylight Time / Central Daylight Saving Time).

- PDF of your Letter detailing the reasons why you applied for this grant and why should you be selected for this grant.
- PDF scans of your diplomas and transcripts of academic records; If you still need to graduate at the time of your application, you are requested to attach PDF scans of your intermediate official transcripts. The Admissions Office reserves the right to ask for official or certified hard copies of transcripts (or diplomas) if required for the evaluation of the application.
- PDF scan of the translation of your diploma and official transcripts; If your documents are not in English, or Arabic, please arrange for these documents to be translated by a registered translator. These documents must also be certified by the educational institution that issued them.
- PDF of your CV.
- Proof of English Proficiency Certificate.
- PDF scan of the identity page of your passport.
- Only for M.Sc./Ph.D. applicants, a Research Proposal of their intended work/project.
- The scholarship acceptance/rejection emails should be sent out.

Applicants for a PhD Degree must upload a Research Proposal of their intended work/project (at least 1500 words). They must also upload a statement of up to 1,500 words detailing their Masters work/thesis.
