Since its establishment in 1995, the Center for Languages for Special Purposes at the Faculty of Arts aims to assist the university in fulfilling its research, educational and training mission in a way that contributes to the development of society inside and outside the university, by providing and implementing training courses for the university and community members; to raise their productive efficiency and qualify them for the needs of the labor market.
It also provides placement tests in various foreign languages such as the Academic Test of English for Postgraduate Studies (TOEFL), the Arabic Language Proficiency Course, and the certified and accredited translation service for official documents and papers from Arabic to various foreign languages and vice versa.
The center also works to strengthen cultural and scientific ties with other universities and scientific bodies on the Arab and international levels by holding various seminars, conferences and workshops
